VEEAM free and paid
I have some licenses of the paid version of VEEAM but not enough licenses to backup all of my vmware servers. Can I use the same server to backup servers that I have licenses for and also do "one time" backups on my other servers? Does that make sense?

It does make sense, and yes - you can do that. Thanks!

How would I do it? Does it revert to the free functionality if there aren't any licenses available?

Re: VEEAM free and paid
well, that's confusing...
Lets say you have licenses for 6 sockets, but you have 4 dual socket servers - veeam WILL refuse to backup that 4-th server with an "out of licenses" error. It doesn't matter what type of job you try to use - backup, replication or VM copy. Gostev - how would this work?
Of course one could use VeeamZIP...

It was exactly what OP was talking about ("one time" backups).Yuki wrote:Of course one could use VeeamZIP...
No, VeeamZIP functionality is available in both free and paid version. You will not be able to run normal backup or replication jobs against this extra host, but VeeamZIP will work for it.kevin1979 wrote:How would I do it?
