Excluding ESX local disk from Datastore Reports ?

Post by GarethWilson »

Is there a way to exclude all the local disk on my esxi hosts so that when i run a datastore report i only get the information on my fibre channel datastores ?

Cheers in advance

Have you considered using Business View groups to separate your datastores and then use these groups as targets for your reports?

Thanks Vitaliy S. will have a look into that, it is telling me that my datastores are using 4271 IOPS and that i cannot create no more vm's as the "constraing Resource" is the datastore reads (which is currently about 67 MBps)

How does it know what IOPS my storage is capable of pulling to make these assumptions ?

Cheers in advance

PS i have 2 x 3PAR F400 Arrays

Veeam ONE does not know what is the maximum number of IOPs your datastore can support, so IOPs cannot be mentioned as the constraining resource for your datastore. Probably, you're mixing it with datastore read rate, which in turn can be the bottleneck? Check your report parameters for read and write rate maximums, as you might want to adjust these thresholds.

In the report parameters, just navigate to "Workspace tab -> Templates -> How many more VMs can be added" report. Hope this helps!

In order not to deal with these parameters over and over again, I would suggest creating multiple reports let's say for each cluster with its own thresholds, after that save these templates as reports and then schedule these report to run once a week or so.
