Incremental backup

Post by DM61 »

Hello,

In a server replacement project, we plan to acquire VeemBackup to perform remote replication.
I can not find reliable information on VeemBackup and more particularly its incremental mode, the bytes of the modified files, they only counted for?
This question is crucial for the calculation of remote backup times.

Thank your help.

Hi Didier,

Veeam B&R uses VMware CBT engine to track changes on virtual disks of the VMs. To get more information on how it works, please take a look at this VMware KB article.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for this reply.

I had some informations for our business but I wanted reliable information to make the purchase.
But there are obviously some conditions on this feature, for example:
-The host must be ESX/ESXi 4.0 or later.
-Require detailed configuration here

The KB article Vitaly provides answers to these questions.
This is also explained in the sticky FAQ topic on this forum.
