Moving VCenter server

Post by Lewok »

I am looking to quick migrate my virtual centre server from my old san to the new san. Both disks are presented to the esxi hosts and Veeam can see them no problem.

I am concerned that when the Vcenter server is switched off to migrate the vm state Veeam will lose connection to it and it won't come back.

Has this been done successfully?

thanks

In the way I see it, you can just add the ESXi host on which vCenter VM resides as a standalone host (rather than doing it through vCenter) to the VB&R console and then perform QuickMigration step. There shouldn't be any issues related to this scenario.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
