Hung / stalled backup jobs
Hi
We are trialling Veeam, but we get cases of hung backup jobs (using the network backup option), where the job will stay running at say 82% but the transfer rate drops and the job never ends. Its also impossible to cancel the job.
You can restart the services and manually remove the snapshot from the ESX host, but then further backup jobs fail saying a job is already in progress.
We can't get any further at this point.

Re: Hung / stalled backup jobs
Andrew, we need logs from Help | Support information to investigate the reason why jobs hang in your environment. As for backup job status for all jobs that were not properly stopped with UI, you can get a script from our support to reset it. Thank you.

::bump:: This is happening to me as well...I'd like to see a hard reset button for jobs included in Veeam, rather than having to get a script.

Re: Hung / stalled backup jobs
Dave, this issue is resolved once and for all (hopefully) in Veeam Backup 4.0 by also taking into account actual job's manager process existence in the backup server OS. So these issues should not be happening any longer even if the job's process was killed or terminated abnormally.

Re: Hung / stalled backup jobs
I've started having this issue again. Thoughts? How can I force the job to cancel and then restart it?

David, right now the script is the only solution, however the next version which does not have this problem is quite close to the release.
