Restore VM from NAS

Post by ardana »

Hi all

its possible to run VM directly from Backup ? because restoring takes really long time on 1GB network and I need only few files from VM. Or I would only want to attach disk from backup to some VM but that backup would stay on NAS where is backup. We have VEEM Enterprise, but I am not sure how to restore particular files from Windows guest OS.

its that possible ?

thanks a lot for help

The easiest way you have is to utilize Windows file-level recovery. Just go to the Menu -> Backup -> Guest Files -> Guest Files (Windows).

More information regarding available Guest OS file recovery scenarios can be found in the corresponding User Guide (p. 43)
Is it possible to run VM directly from Backup ?
Yep, it’s possible with the special feature called Instant VM Recovery. With it you can immediately restore a VM into your production environment by running it directly from the backup.

For detailed description kindly see User Guide (p.41).

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
