Veam6.5: Adv. Setting; VM Notes
I have the VM notes checked on all of my jobs. We are upgrading to R2. Now, I've noticed that if a VM is powered off and new VM with identical name is created and added to the existing backup job, the VM notes are not getting pushed to the VM. Could that be a bug?

Re: Veam6.5: Adv. Setting; VM Notes
It’s not a bug, Veeam tracks VMs by "Managed Object Reference ID" and not by the names. Thus, there is no wonder, why notes assigned to one VM haven’t been passed to another one, even though it has a similar name.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Re: Veam6.5: Adv. Setting; VM Notes
If i remove the turned off VM form the Backup Job and add the newly created VM to the Backup Job,shouldn't the newly added VM then receive these VM Notes?

Re: Veam6.5: Adv. Setting; VM Notes
These attributes are set after successful backup. So, not until next backup run will these notes be assigned to new VM.
Or you’re saying that you’ve added newly-created VM to the existing job, however, after successful backup run, notes weren’t written to it.
Thanks.
