Hi,
We are using 4.5.2 with MOM 2005. We are monitoring a single ESX server with some guest hosts for testing. All the alerts in mom are generated from this esx server and to be able to see which computer the alert belongs to, we have to drill down to the event data.
Is there a way to add the guest as a computer in MOM so that it looks like the alert is coming from the guest?
Regards,
Kaan

Re: Computer account in MOM
Hi Kaan
Yes - you can do this
You need to enable the 'CreateGuest' parameter on the metric collection rules. This will target performance data at a separate object in MOM for each VM.
If there is already a MOM Agent on the VM - then our MP will use this computer to log the data. If there is no Agent, then a Computer object will be created to log the data.
Please see our MP Admin Guide pages 75 - 79 http://www.veeam.com/MP_VMware_MOM05_Ad ... _E4_pg.pdf for full details.
Any queries please let me know!
Regards
Alec
