Migrating VMs using Veeam while maintaining snapshots

Hi guys,

We have recently acquired a few companies that have their own VMware environment and need to migrate them into our main datacenter. However, one environment is utilized exclusivity for QA and utilizes snapshots like nobody's business (I know, I'm trying to get them out of the practice). Is there a way to use VeeamZip but maintain the snapshots for a VM?

We're talking about 100 VMs that will need to be migrated in total. I understand that a cold migration will maintain the snapshots but moving that much data over a DS3 likely won't work be sufficient.

Hi Bryan, the only way to maintain snapshots that I am aware of is cold migration, unfortunately...

As it has been already indicated, the only way to migrate VM along with the corresponding snapshot is cold migration. However, you can put into use Veeam File Copy Job in order to do it – use it to copy the entire VM folder to the required location and register it in vSphere.
