Apparently the servers hosting Veeam B&R components are out-of-sync on time, please verify that all you have the same date and time on all servers and re-run the job.

[MERGED] There is a time and/or date difference

Post by jrene »

Recently, I have been getting the following error: There is a time and/or date difference between the client and server. Cannot create folder.

My servers are time synched correctly. Sometimes the backup runs fine and other time it fails...

Any idea what could be the problem?
Thank you, Jrene

Hi Rene,

Do you receive this error for the backup job or for each VM being processed in the job? Also to get a quicker assistance with technical issues, it's better to contact our support team directly.

Thanks!

Make sure you have NTP service configured on all Veeam B&R components as well as on the VMs that fail with this error message. If you keep receiving it during job runs, then based on the logs review our support team will be able to help you with nailing down this issue.

My servers synched with my Domain controllers and time is matching therefore I know it's not coming from the NTP...

Where are the logs located on my server? I made a search without success.
Thank you, Rene

Where are the logs located on my server?
It all depends on which type of operating system is being used. The corresponding log can be found:

• Windows Server 2003: %allusersprofile%\Application Data\Veeam\Backup
• Windows Server 2008 and R2, Windows 7: %allusersprofile%\Veeam\Backup
• Linux servers: /var/log/VeeamBackup/

Additionally, you can go to the Menu -> Help -> Support Information -> Export logs and choose a folder to which the logs should be exported.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
