NFS on Windows 2008 R2

Post by trackstar »

Hello,

We have Veeam 6.5 Backup and Replication installed on a 2008 R2 virtual machine. What is the best way to mount that NFS? The virtual machine currently is on EXSi 4.0 host or can be moved to ESX.

I was told that Veeam has a NSF daemon that can be installed on the machine itself??? I will do more reading but looking for some ideas.

Thanks

I'm not sure what NFS you are talking: is it an NFS storage you have in your infrastructure, or are you talking about the Veeam NFS Service?

I am talking about an NFS share from the storage.

I just noticed the Backup Repositories have an option for mounted NFS share.

If you want to use NFS as a repository, then the preferred way would be to mount it to a Linux box and then add this Linux to the backup console. If you have a Windows box then you could use Windows NFS client to add this storage, alternatively you can try to re-use vPower NFS Server. Here is an existing topic for more info: NFS client possible on VBR server?

Yea, the first two options look to be easier.

Regarding "re-use vPower NFS Server", I have read the posting and read Veeam docs and its one confusing topic. I am not sure if it applies to what I am looking for.
