Hi.
We are running a small multi-tenant hosting system.
A physical backup server running VBR 6.5 patch 3 (which is the single onsite proxy and repository).
3 VMware 5.1 update 1 hosts.
The VMs are connected to several different VLANs.
The question:
What are the networking requirements when using Application Aware?
Does the backup server need direct network connection to the guest?
Or is the connection between Backup server and VMware VC+Hosts sufficient?
Thanks,
Yizhar

Re: Application-ware Processing - network requirements?
Yizhar, actually direct network connection to VM is not required as in case the VM is not accessible over the network, application-aware image processing can be performed over VMware Tools (VIX) API. Just make sure you are using the local Administrator account on this VM.
