Datastore Disk I/O reports

Post by SimonEa »

Hi guys!

Just a query..

Viewing Disk I/O and setting the chart view to "Datastore I/O" and then changing between the time period of "Past day" and "Past week" why do the maximum IOPS change on the VMs?

Eg

Past Day IOPS Maximum for a VM = 2191
Past Week IOPS Maximum for same Vm = 864

Why is that happening?

Cheers

Simon

Hi Simon,

That happens because the mean/average value between all available data points is picked up when you change the reporting interval.

Thanks!

That kind of defeats the object of ordering by Maximum.. I dont want the average maximum I want the maximum... you already have an average option.

Any chance that can be addressed?
