V7 Storage Snapshot licensing

Post by maxbbs »

Hi

I'm probably missing something here...

We are currently backing up one of our Hyper-V environments using Veeam 6.5. We are already leveraging storage snapshots, offhost backup mode using VSS hardware providers (as described in the Veeam Hyper-V user guide). After looking at the material for the Veeam 7, it appears that SAN snapshot based backups will be a 'enterprise plus' feature. Is this (existing) functionality going to require an extra level of licensing/cost? I suspect I have misunderstood or missed something that explains it but I thought someone here may be able to give me a quick answer.

Thanks

Max

Hi, Max.

The technology in question is solely related to VMware environment, and not to Hyper-V one, since, as you’ve correctly pointed out, we’re already leveraging storage snapshots in case of Hyper-V deployment.

The existing Hyper-V technology will be provided as is, without any additional payment.

Thanks.
