Change Binding for BEM-Webservice

Post by oliver »

Hi,

i installed the new v7 of Backup Enterprise Manager today and tried to find a way to bind the HTTPS-Webinterface to another network-Interface or ip address.
When i change the Binding in IIS-Manager from <*:9443> to <10.0.8.40:9443> the Website is longer reachable.

- The servername doesn't resolve to 10.0.8.40
- Ports in the Firewall are open

Is there any other configuration where i can change the binding or is this a dns related Problem ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Oliver,

To check if it is a DNS problem or not you can try to edit hosts file on any remote machine by adding the corresponding DNS record for this IP address - 10.0.8.40. If it doesn't work, then it should be something else.

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,

it looks to me as the webservice is bound to the first ip-address which the hostname was resolved to during the setup.
Even when i change the binding to a new ip-address and try to connect using the browser (https://10.0.8.40:9443), the website is unreachable.

Is the IIS-Manger the ONLY way to change the binding of the BEM-Webservice ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
webservice is bound to the first ip-address which the hostname was resolved to during the setup.
That’s correct it resolves FQDN of the Enterprise Manager's server into the IP address
IIS-Manger the ONLY way to change the binding of the BEM-Webservice
IIS would be an only place to set up binding, yes.

Could you please elaborate a little bit the scenario: why you need to set up binding for the Enterprise Manager Console?
Thank you in advance.

Oliver,

Can you please tell me what steps exactly you've performed to change the address of the website?

Thanks!
