one free version unable to connect to esxi v5.1
As it is a free version i think the post is complying with rules of posting, if not please let me know.
Testing Veeam ONE.
Setup is as follows;
HP Proliant ML-350G6 with VMWare ESXi 5.1.0 b1065491 for HP customized.
On the esxi a vm is installed with W7-32b
On the vm is Veeam ONE Free Edition v7.0.0.876 for VMware and Hyper-V installed. Only option was to install the client which i persume is right.
I entered the correct ip adress of the hp box, no joy.
Whatever i try, it will not connect. Saying could not connect to veeam monitor server.
I disabled windows firewall and avira virusscanner. Tried installing on another workstation (w7-32b on vmware desktop v9), no luck
Still VMware vSphere Client is able to connect to esxi and show's status.
Any suggestion?

Hello,
Thank you!
Just to make sure I got it right, you cannot add ESXi server to Veeam ONE console or Monitor Client cannot connect to Veeam ONE Monitor server?edwinnl wrote:Whatever i try, it will not connect. Saying could not connect to veeam monitor server.
Thank you!

either way. After i have installed veeam client (the right box in the installer start screen) i start vm1 via link on desktop. vm1 starts up and then show's me a window with "Could not connect to Veeam ONE Monitor Server specified in Options > Client Setting"
I checked the setting and filled in <ip_adres_esxi> like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format

You should specify your Veeam ONE server in this field and not the ESXi server. Assuming that you have everything on the same box, type in "localhost" and then once you open the GUI, add your ESXi server through Add Server button.

Tried localhost and 127.0.0.1 without any change.
btw i never got a option to install a server part. When i look in services.msc i could not find any service starting with veeam, should it be that way?
I disabled ms firewall and realtime virus scanner.

Yes, you should have Veeam ONE server installed as well. Please take a look at our Deployment Guide for more information: http://www.veeam.com/veeamone_7_0_deplo ... ide_pg.pdf (page 18)

ah, but that's the problem. I'm unable to perform the server install. The box does not react when i hoover oever it or click on it.
browsed on the iso, server is a x64 and the system is 32b=x86.
That's a bummer. Is there a x86 installer for the server part?

No, only x64 systems are supported for Veeam ONE server installation.
