Definition of Datastore IOPS vs Datastore Usage in KBps

Post by klasikrkade »

Can someone please give me a CLEAR definition for IOPS and Datastore usage in KBps as these pertain to the datastore reporting.

Trying to understand more fully how the latency, IOPS and usage in KBps are analyzed in relation to overall datastore performance.

Hello Frank,

Can you please tell me if you had a chance to take a look at counter descriptions we have? These descriptions are available when you click "custom" chart view in the Monitor Client.

Basically, the number of max IOPs (number of read/write operations per second) is determined by your datastore make and model, the closer you're to the limit the higher latency values you will observe for the datastore.

Thank you!
