Move VM from one replica job to another replica job

Hi there,

Veeam 6.5

I have a VM in a replica job that runs once a night.

I have another VM in a replica job that runs daily.

I'd like to 'move' the VM from the nightly job into the daily job but am not sure how to do this.

I tried stopping the nightly job from running and adding the VM to the hourly job prior to deleting the VM from the nightly job, however it just gave me an error that the folder already existed when I tried to run it (said the replica name already exists)

I tried adding the VM and using the original replica as a seed VM (used detect to identify and keep the mapping) but it takes a while calculating the digests - is there no way to just move or merge the VM or any other option?

If you want to move a VM from one job to another, you need to add it to the new job and map the production VM to the existing VM replica. Digest calculation procedure is essential, as Veeam backup server needs to detect what blocks have changed, compare source and target VMs to start transmitting VM changes. This is the way how it should be done.

Hi.

If you have only few VMs to replicate, then you can also consider single VM per job.
This will allow you more granular control.
