I have a few VMs that are seeing a lot of changes lately. So much so that we had to suspend VEEAM backups because at one point, the snapshot taken by VEEAM was trying to commit and was growing faster than it was committing.
I just upgraded to V7, and noticed the ability to use hardware snapshots. We are using Dell MD3200i with additional MD1200 shelves. Would the snapshot removal be faster if the MD took the snapshot as opposed to ESXi?

At this time hardware snapshots are supported only for HP StoreVirtual (Lefthand) and HP StoreServ (3PAR) storage.

Additionally, it might be worth taking “problematic” VMs out of the actual backup schedule, and backing them up during night, for instance, where there are little changes produced. Thanks.

Growth occurs 24/7, there is no good time. It's mostly due to the way ESX removes snapshots, so I was wondering if there was a better way.

Have you enabled parallel processing for these VM? Might help you with snapshot growth issue...
