Veeam 4.x and DataDomain CIFS support

At VMworld 2009, we were PROMISED by Veeam sales-reps and tech-reps (David) that the issue with DataDomain and CIFS were fixed. Now we are sitting here with version 4.0 and the problem is still NOT fixed. Your technical support confirms this is true. What happened here?!?!

We have bought a product (Veeam Backup & Replication) that does not work as intended, you can’t seriously mean that we must run backup via NFS? It’s as slow as it can get. We have invested a lot of time and money in hardware and software which can't be used to its full extent since Veeam does not support CIFS with DataDomain...

* Why is it still not supported?
* What is Veeams official statement of this issue?
* Will it be fixed? When?
