reverse incr or forward inct + synthetical each day

What wll be the fastest backup methode reverse incemental -> certain jobs take 3 hours to write 100 GB reverse incr with compression for a source size of 7TB
or so a forward incremental and do a synthetique full directly for the same job?
Can I switche from reverse to forward like that and vise versa??
