Verifying disk file.vmdk of VM Data (xx% done) endless loop
ticket: [ID#00469544]
Hi,
I have a veeam setup with 3 copy jobs, all with health check set to last sunday in month.
The jobs are on a daily copy interval, with different start times.
Problem is, shortly before last sunday in okt. They all started running backup verifications.
Whenever the check reaches 100%, it starts over again, on the _same_ VM.
Whenever the copy interval comes to an end, I get the following error:
Failed to perform backup file verification Error: Client error: Agent: Failed to process method {Signature.StoreInWACache}: Access is denied RPC function call failed. Function name: [DoRpcWithBinary]. Target machine: [localhost]. --tr:SaveBackupSignatureBlob() RPC method call failed.
If I disable the job and start it again, it just starts the file verification again.
I have made a workaround, where I disable the health check and starts the copy job, this results in "calculating digits" and in one of the jobs it found corrupt data, in the other two, no problems was found. after the first run, with health check disabled, I enabled it again. and the jobs are actually running, for now. The healt checks are now set to first, second and third sunday in month, respectively.
I feel pretty confident that the problem is _not_ solved, but just postponed, to the next health check.
I really need to find out why this happend and prevent it from happening again... Any help is appreciated.
ps.
I haven't heard from the support, regarding the ticket for the last 6 days(i asked for an update in the beginning of this week), which is why I started working on a workaround.

This looks like a known issue (disk digests size exceeding the RPC call limit) that will be addressed in the upcoming update. You can either wait for the update to be released or ask your support engineer for the private fix. Thanks.

Same issue. Copy Job stopped on 28/10/2013 which is the day after the last Sunday in the month and the day Veeam copy job does a Health check. I'll disable Health Check for now.
Error: Client error: Agent: Failed to process method {Signature.FullRecheckBackup}: There is no FIB [Server-flat.vmdk] in the specified restore point.
Thanks
Eamonn

Judging on the error, I'm not sure this is the same error. However, you can check with technical support whether this is the similar case and get the fix for it.

Judging on the error, there is an actual issue with backup file.

Thanks Foggy and Gostev,
The Job moved onto the next step and then failed.
Turns out one of the servers in the backup files can't delete so there must be some corruption. For now I'll just created a new Job with Health Check off until V7 R2 arrives. I'll keep the old backup files for a few weeks.

Eamonn, it would be much appreciated if you could provide your logs to our technical support. R&D wants to take a look at this error more closely. Thanks!
