Another Backup copy job question

I was wondering what the .temp file is in my folder. Its very large and old (can I delete?).

I believe this file could have been created by a failed synthetic job run. I would suggest temporary removing it from the folder and running the backup job. If job runs fine, you can safely delete this file. Thanks!

This file might be remnant of compact full operation. Something went wrong, and the file wasn't properly deleted, as it was supposed to. Anyway, you might try the workaround proposed by Vitaliy and see whether it helps you or not.
