ESX 4.1 LAN Backup - multiple NICs

Hello,

one of our customers has an old ESX4.1 installation. They are using BackupExec with agents in the VMs for backup. I am about to install Veeam B&R there. There are two ESX servers installed on HP DL380G6 hardware and the same hardware as a backupserver. The ESX hosts are connected via FC to HP MSA SAN storage. The backupserver is not connected via FC.

To get fast backups in this scenario I thought about installing an additional quad port NIC in every ESX server and configure an additional console of service port which is exclusively connected to the additional NIC ports. Given that the switch configuration is correct and the bottleneck is source, do I have the chance to achieve higher throughput on the backups?
