Netapp w/ Veeam design questions

Post by dwoerz »

We are looking into purchasing a new Netapp San for our production environment. We currently have an Equallogic and are planning on using that as a replication target for DR purposes. We are interested in using the snapshots with the netapp for restoring exchange items or mounting sql databases for testing or anything else we can utilize the netapp application integration but it seems that in order for all of the netapp software to work, the data has to reside in a Microsoft initiated iscsi drive which cannot be seen by veeam. What are my options? I really like the mounting of a DB from snapshot because it is so fast. I have tried the virtual labs but they are slow to setup and hard to allow access to. Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to utilize the netapp snapshots with keeping the use of veeam for backup and replication?

Thanks for your ideas.
