One-off server backup outside of normal backup job

Post by ddockter »

How does running a one-off server backup impact the restore points that are created for that server in the "normal" backup job that it is part of?

You mean like a VeeamZIP or by creating another job? Either way, it doesn't have any impact on the "normal" job.

Creating another job. So if I create another job for that server only it will not impact the full/incremental chain for that server that was created as part of another job (multiple servers in that job)?

No, it won't have any impact at all. You can have as many jobs as you want backing up the same VM.

If you just need a simple "One-Off" full backup of a VM you can simply go to the "Virtual Machines" section of the GUI, browse to the VM, right click and choose "VeeamZIP" and pick the repository or custom path. This is a completely independent full backup without having to create a job.
