Cannot power on machine after Instant recovery

Post by EddyWu »

Hello,
After Instant recovery and power on machine, esx gives me "Virtual machine has 1,024 megabytes of memory, which is larger than the maximum 1,024 megabytes supported by the datastore" message.

The only way to power on VM is adjust MEM lower than 1024MB, I had notice KB1826 but still not work.
Is anyone met the same problem?

my environment:
ESXi 5.5
Veeam 7.0 build 7.0.0.771

Eddy,

I just ran across this very same issue with my home LAB. In an effort to try and limit resource consumption of Instant VM Recovery examples for demo purposes, I setup a dedicated resource pool just to place the recoveries into. The problem was, I set the shares for both CPU and RAM to "LOW" instead of "Normal" or "High."

I would go check your resource pool configuration and see if it is lower than where the VM was originally backed up from.

Just a thought..

Thanks,

Matt
