Slugish UI

Post by yizhar »

Hi.

I have installed a new backup server today, HP ML310 hardware, Windows 2008 r2, Veeam 7 r2.

This is a new, clean install for new customer.

I have noticed that when opening the management UI, I get sluggish response such as mouse cursor hanging for few seconds, etc.
This happened only when Veeam UI was open.

This is when nothing special running on the host (no backups running etc).

I haven't had the time to troubleshoot further.

Did anybody else notice something similar?

Thanks,
Yizhar

Hard to imagine what can cause mouse cursor to hang. Last time I saw mouse freezing was about 10 years ago, this would happen during heavy swap. How the OS is doing on memory and CPU load? Is this a clean OS install, or does the server also have some bloatware, antivirus, other software running?

Hi.

This is a fresh clean install, server is dedicated for Veeam.

It might be related to the KVM connected and somehow to display driver, I will be there again next week.
Strange thing is that the problems appear only when Veeam UI is open, and not with other apps such as Internet Explorer, MMC Management tools, etc.
