Library and drives as separate devices. Tandberg LTO-5

Post by Gagagu » 1 person likes this post

Hi all,
i want to use our Tandberg Storageloader LTO-5 with Veeam Backup & Replication. I've used it with Symantec Backup Excec 2010 before without any problems.
The Backup Excec 2010 Software is deinstalled and all drivers for the storageloader are installed and uptodate.

On device manager (server 2008 x64) there are two enties for the storageloader visible:
1) Tape - Hewlett Packard LTO Ultrium-5 drive
2) Tandberg Data StorageLoader/StorageLibrary

On Veeam Backup & Replication are two entries visible under "Tape":
1) Hewlett Packard LTO Ultrium-5 drive (Tape0)
2) TANDBERG AT1280-1R VS 160 0348

The second one do not have any tape drives mapped and when i want to inventory the library i get the following error:
11.12.2013 12:53:45 Processing started at Mittwoch, 11. Dezember 2013 12:53:44

Any ideas?

Hello,
Thank you for updating the thread. The KB was released not long ago - so it is great that you shared a link with the community!

Thank you for this thread!! The KB fixed my problem with an HP MSL2024 tape loader presented to my Veeam backup server (VM) as an Iscsi device from a physical server. Off to test will update.

Hi Everyone,

i will reactive this post, because i have the same issue with my Veeam 9.5 (update 1) and our NEO Storageloader.
If i add the Tape-Server, veeam show me the BDT FlexStor II 5.10 and the IBM ULTRIUM-HH7 as seperate devices.

I have tried the registry solution out of the KB-Article but it doesn't work.

Is there any other solution ?

Thanks!

Hi Benjamin,

This issues should be completely fixed and the registry key most likely won’t work. Can you double check you devices drivers are properly installed (both for changer and drives)?
