confirm of GFS change Warnings

Post by hayliz »

Hello everyone,
Problem: I have a backup copy job where I want to customize the GFS policies with “Set-VBRBackupCopyJob”. Here I can for example customize the message with “IgnoreLocation”. But if I for example have a value of 2 for Weekly Retention and want to set this to 1 with Powershell, I get the following message.

“You are about to apply the modified GFS retention policy. One or several existing GFS backups will be removed. Proceed
anyway ?
[Y] Yes [N] No [S] Suspend [?] Help (default is “Y”):”

I have tried various Powershell commands such as “-Confirm:$false” or “$ConfirmPreference = ‘None’”, but unfortunately without success.

How can I build it so that it is automatically confirmed?

Thank you in advance!

Hello Abdulla

We discussed your question internally and unfortunately there is no parameter (official or hidden) to enforce this setting. We note it as a feature request for a future version.
