Manage volume VSS-provider-setting with Powershell.
We have two Hyper-V clusters with 6 hosts in each cluster. In both clusters we have about 12 CSV's. Our San is Dell Equalogic.
Because the Dell VSS hardwareprovider doesn't work to well, and because I have found out that a max of 2 snapshots per CSV works best for our environment I want to do these settings. The problem is, this is a lot of click work. I have to go to the volume settings for every individual host and then I have to change the VSS provider and the max snapshots for every single CSV.
I installed the Powershell addon for Veeam but I cannot find the command to change the above settings. Am I doing something wrong or are these settings not yet implemented in PS?

Unfortunately, volume specific settings are not configurable through PowerShell. And I'm not aware of potential workaround that might solve the issue for you. Thanks.

Hi Vladimir,
Then I would like to submit it as a feature request.

The topic itself can be considered as a feature requests. But be aware that those are prioritized based on the actual customers' demands. In order words, less demanded ones usually get withdrawn in favor of more demanded ones. Thanks.

[MERGED] : Possibility to manage volumes through powershell?
Hi.
One of our hyperv customers has a lot of volumes and our techguys have to change the VSS provider (from hardware to software) in the gui for each host in the cluster.

This is really timeconsuming , so our first though was that this could be done through powershell but according to Veeam support (#01393474) this is atm not possible:
Thanks in advance

Will it be possible to see this in a future release? Or is there a clever trick to change this faster?Unfortunately, volume specific settings are not configurable through PowerShell. And I'm not aware of potential workaround that might solve the issue for you. Thanks.

You're right. Currently those setting cannot be configured via PowerShell. We'll think what can be done in this regard in one of the next product releases. Thanks.

I would also like to request this. I need to adjust the number of snapshots per volume.

According to the plan, corresponding set of cmdlets should be added in version 10. Thanks.
