problems to run powershell in older version atfer Veeam Inst

Post by aebiroger »

Hi There Community

We run Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5.0.1536. We have different Microsoft Servers 2008R2 an 2012R2 uso...
We run SAP on every Server. Now we run a System-Copy Software for Client- and System-Copy therefor we need Powershell with version 2.0.

After the Installation of the Veeam Console Backup and Replication on a Windows Server 2012R2 we could not change the powershell Version to a older Version.

In a Powershell
powershell -version 2
----> nothing changed

The Error in the System-Copy-Software after Installation Veeam
Powershell V2.0 is required on <Server> Please use "Add Roles and Features" to install it!
----> Feature on the Server was installed bevor and it's still installed.

I tried to make a upgrade of powershell with Win8.1AndW2K12R2-KB3191564-x64.msu.
----> nothing changed (Powershell Version could not be changed)

Does someone have the same problem? Does someone have a Solution to solve this problem?
Many Thanks

As far as I know, PowerShell (in contrast to other PS versions) can coexist with newer versions of PowerShell. So, can you try to remove current version of PS, install version 2 and then install version 4 or 5.

This should result in two versions of PS installed in your environment.

Thanks.
