Replicating Repositories

Post by atsrl »

Hello guys!

I have a question about replicating repositories with power shell.
At the request of a client, I am working on a design that includes replicating Veeam repositories at the file or block level, without using Veeam Backup Copy or replica vm (It´s a physical repository.)

Is there a PowerShell command to perform this task?
Recommend some procedure?

Thank you very much!

In this case you should find a 3-party tool, such as rsync or similar that will do the trick for you.

As long as a tool supports cmdline, you can script the whole process.

However, can you tell me why backup copy job does not work for your customer?

Thanks.

Yes, off course.

The environment consist of two sites:
SITE#1
vCloud Director1>vCenters#n (exact same ORGs and users than SITE#2)
Veeam Backup Server1>Veeam Repo Server1n
Veeam Enterprise Manager1 (for SelfService and Tentants Admin.)
SITE#2.
vCloud Director2>vCenters#n (exact same ORGs and users than SITE#1)
Veeam Backup Server2>Veeam Repo Server2n
Veeam Enterprise Manager 2(for SelfService and Tentants Admin.)

Both Sites use the same microsoft domain for autentication and related stuffs.
Each VCD it is independent, but use the exact same ORG names and configurations at user rights level, so the domain user1 can access at the same ORGs on both VCD.

The plan (at this time its in a test&dev stage) is to create backups of production VMS at site1 and replicate the backup repo to site2.

At the Veeam Enterprise Manager level, the same ORGs on both sites will be configured to use it, and we expect to the backups from SITE1 can be restored using the VEM on site2 in to the VCD on site2.

I hope to be clear. Please, let me know any doubts.
Thank you!

Hello! How are you? Did you have the chance to analyze the scenario?
Thank you!
