Feature request: Hide local datastores

Post by drbarker »

Hi Veeam,

I thought I'd post a quick feature request - who knows, maybe a few other people will pipe up with a 'yes please' too ;-)

Reporter is great - the storage reports, visio diagrams & configuration docs are all invaluable for us - but...

We store most of our VM's on shared storage, but each ESX box has a local datastore attached too (e.g. to run VIMA boxes on ESXi). These local datastores clutter up the reports - any chance we can have a tick box to 'show only shared datastores' ? :-)

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I will need to investigate on whether it is possible to distinguish local vs. shared datastores easily in an automated way.

OK, it looks like we already capture this information in Raw Data Analysis report, so you can use it today to build custom reports ("object type" for datastore objects, "storage" for local, "shared storage" for shared). But we still need to add this filter to stock reports, because it is not there at the moment.

We've only got reporter standard (not enterprise) - we can't do custom reports :-(
