/api/v1/serverInfo

Post by AshV »

I've recently started to use the Veeam API and I'm a little confused with the "/api/v1/serverInfo" response, the documentation page states that the "name" property will return "Full DNS name or IP address of the backup server" but it only brings back the string "Veeam Backup and Replication". Is this intended behavior, or is the this request not yet implemented to return the correct information?

Is there any other API request I can make that will bring me back a property that does contain the name of the backup server?

Hi,

It's definitely a bug, /serverInfo should return proper FQDN or IP. Passed it to QA, thanks for noticing.
Alternative way would be to get backup server via /api/v1/backupInfrastructure/managedServers?typeFilter=WindowsHost query and filter it by description ("Backup server"), unless you changed it specifically.

Best regards,
Oleg

Hi Oleg,

Thanks for the response, will look forward to a fix in future version. Additionally, thanks for providing an alternative in the meantime, much appreciated.
