Saving VM snapshots when backup virtual machines

Post by claygod »

I create backup jobs with backup type "VirtualMachine" (API v.11)
"virtualMachines":{"includes":[{... , "type":"VirtualMachine", ...}]}
(Virtual machines in vSphere, created directly, without vCloud Director)
With such a backup, VM-snapshots are not restored after restoring from Restore Point

Tell me, what are the possibilities to save VM snapshots?
In the documentation, I see the options storage->advancedSettings->storageIntegration , but it seems that this is not relevant when backing up "VirtualMachine"?

Hi Eduard

We only protect a virtual machine state. VM Snapshots cannot be protected or restored by Veeam.
Storage Integration doesn't protect VM Snapshots. It allows you to backup a VM with the help of a Storage Snapshots.

Maybe you share with me what you are trying todo? Why do you need to restore VM Snapshots?

Best,
