There are several PowerShell APIs we use regularly that we would like to see added as REST APIs in the near future.
They are:
- Retrieve compute information of backup object (CPU and RAM allocation)
- Rescan repositories and import backups (Sync-VBRBackupRepository and Add-VBRBackupRepository -ImportBackup)
- Check encryption on backup (Get-VBRImportedEncryptedBackup) and decrypt backup (Set-VBREncryptedBackupPassword)
- Check if restore point is Unix based and/or see Guest OS type (Get-VBRRestorePoint .GuestInfo.IsUnixBased)
- Remove backups from configuration (Remove-VBRBackup)
- Start and stop Instant VM Recoveries (Start-VBRInstantRecovery, Stop-VBRInstantRecovery, and Start-VBRViComputerInstantRecovery)
- Start and stop quick migrations (Start-VBRQuickMigration)
- Data Integration API (Publish-VBRBackupContent and Unpublish-VBRBackupContent)

Re: Useful API Functionality
Hi Jonah,
As you use associations with Powershell, I assume that your feature requests concern VBR REST API.
So, I added them to the to-do list of API enhancements.
Thanks,
Oleg
