Agent Management - License requirement

Post by albertwt »

Mildur wrote: Oct 31, 2022 6:39 am Hi Kei

I believe I gave you the answer in the other Topic:
post467335.html#p467335

Veeam Agent over NAT is not supported, but there are unofficial workarounds. Just follow my advice in the other topic and read through the comments.

But with a backup server on EC2 without a public ip and no vpn, how can you connect an agent to the backup server for policy management? Sounds impossible to me.
Either a public IP must be used or a VPN.

Thanks
Fabian
Hi @Mildur,

To use the capability for the Veeam Agent integrated management with the VBR console, the agent must be licensed.
Is that correct?

Hi Albert

Correct. Free Agents cannot be managed by the VBR.
The VBR server will assign a workstation or server license to the agent depending on the configured backup job/backup policy.

Thanks
