Hello everybody!
I want to backup a Windows Fileserver. The Fileserver has 2 TB. My backup storage has 10 TB.
Can I setup a retention policy of 60 days and create active full backups on first saturday of a month?
Or what is the best option? Full backup every week limits the storage to 4 max full backups?
What does retention policy mean and effect to "Keep certain full backups longer...."

Re: Fileserver retention policy
Hello,
and welcome to the forums.
That should work, yes. I mean, it depends on the daily change rate you have. With 3%, it should use around 7TB. with 50% data reduction rate.
"Best" is hard to say... it depends what the requirements are With "active full", you always need the full disk space, yes. So weekly would give less days.
"Retention policy" is how long to keep backups. The setting is for GFS (grandfather, father, son) which means weekly / monthly / yearly backups (see user guide)
Best regards,
Hannes
