Get SQL Log Backup details
Yesterday I ran some test on SQL log backups, for a VBR Manged agent job (of a AllwaysOn Cluster in a Protection Group).
While the job was running, I saw some info in the gui. Unfortunatly, I could not see these sessions afterwards in the html report (when generating one through the GUI).
Is there another way to se the same information (e.g. a SQL query on vbr's database or something else).
I am looking for the same data as presented in the report:
Start time End time Duration Delay Protected Unprotected Read Transferred Details
12:48:42 PM 1:03:42 PM 0:00:25 0:00:00 7 18 3.4 MB 73.8 KB
1:03:42 PM 1:18:42 PM 0:00:25 0:00:00 7 18 3.3 MB 69.8 KB
1:18:42 PM 1:33:42 PM 0:00:25 0:00:00 7 18 3.3 MB 69.8 KB
FYI: Open a support case (05721213), and was told to copy lines from the session in the GUI. But this provides even less information, than digging through the logs.

Re: Get SQL Log Backup details
Hello,
everything in the GUI / session history is somewhere in the database. Hard to say, whether it's easier to filter logs or do SQL queries.
What do you try to achieve? What information do you need for what purpose? Could the "Database protection history" report maybe solve it?
Best regards,
Hannes

Re: Get SQL Log Backup details
Good suggestion about the report. Unfortunately, Veeam ONE is not installed on this environment.
What I want to achieve is:
Getting data/report for previous intervals of the SQL Log Backup with the following metrics:
Start time, End time,Duration Amount of data read and amount transferred
-basically the same metrics as in the html report.
Does anyone know if there is a stored procedure in the DB for the report?

Well. Silly me...
You just need to choose the specific backup session in the History>Jobs and build a report (right-clicking the job). All the intervals will be there.
-How that part slipped by me, or the Veeam enineer I called, is beyond me. And it is not even a Monday
But this part from Veeam Support sort of agrevates me:

Should they not know how the report gets generated?Unfortunately, the tables in the database are heavily intertwined, and it would be problematic to build a proper query taking into account all the details. Veeam Support works on a break-fix basis, so I'm afraid that building a query to retrieve the information may not be provided

Re: Get SQL Log Backup details
good to hear that you found an alternative way
No. Support is available to fix things, that are broken. Any unsupported database workarounds, or custom log filtering, that's in the responsibility of the customer (I know several customers who do SQL queries directly). If the customer is not capable, then he can ask a (Veeam accredited) service partner. "Support" is not "Professional Service"Should they not know how the report gets generated?

Well it might be a "workaround", but it is how the report get generated, is it not? I would have thought that somebody knew how it got generated.Any unsupported database workarounds

Re: Get SQL Log Backup details
Sure, there are people who developed the report and and who know how it is generated. But we don't provide that information to public, because we then need to take care of not breaking anything with new versions. That's why I don't recommend SQL queries in general. PowerShell might be an alternative (there is a dedicated PowerShell forum)
partners / service providers can ask a Veeam Accredited Service Partner (VASP). A list is available on the website https://www.veeam.com/find-a-veeam-accr ... rtner.html
