how to use script in veeam backup job

Post by mirfan »

Hi,

I have veeam agent backup managed job managed by the backup server.
How to use script pre-freeze and post-thaw in backup job?

the script sybase-pre-freeze.sh call sybase-pre-freeze.sql
the same for sybase-post-thaw.sh call sybsae-post-thaw.sql

whether the file .sh and .sql i put in sybase server or in veeam backup server?

It's in the guide (executable files from a local folder on the backup server):

Windows

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100
In the Pre-freeze script and Post-thaw script fields, click Browse to choose executable files from a local folder on the backup server. During the backup job session, Veeam Backup & Replication will upload the scripts to Veeam Agent computers added to the job and execute them on these computers. Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows supports scripts in the EXE, BAT and CMD format.
Veeam Agent for Windows only supports the following scripts
EXE, BAT and CMD format.

Linux

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100
In the Snapshot scripts section, specify custom scripts that you want to execute before Veeam Agent for Linux creates a snapshot of the backed-up volume and/or after the snapshot is created. To do this, in the Pre-freeze script and Post-thaw script fields, click Browse and choose executable files from a local folder on the backup server.

Veeam Agent for Windows only supports the following scripts
SH format.
