The number of restore points for physical agents has the same interface but completely different results compared to backing up VM's.

For example: VM backups with 23 restore points have 1 full, 22 incrementals.

Physicaly backups: Set to 3 restore points I have 10 incrementals and 2 fulls. Set to 2 restore points I have one full and 2 incrementals.

Please match the interface for the two setups so I can actually control how many restore points I have on disk with a reasonable degree of accuracy.

And yes I have used the simulator to determine my settings, and no, it bears no reflection to reality.

It sounds like you're using different backup modes for your VM and physical backups.
