Ubuntu 18.04 Backup error

Post by GasAma »

Hello everyone,

we tried to add a extern Linux Ubutu 18.04 Server to Veeam, we've already installed the Client on the Server.
I added it as a Server with standard options choosen and activated auto Sudo.
As we started the Backup porcess, it connectet to the Server to Update the Backup Policys and configurations. After that, it tried to conntect to the Server with the Port "10006" and Failed, so we decided to open the Ports for the Server in the Firwall. But after this, it Failed again.
We deactivaded the Auto Sudo, because in Log file of the Backup is a Error for every Process with the sudo command, but afterall we've got the same Error message.

We looked up in the Task Logs and found that the exit code is "255", when it Failed to conncet.

Does anyone have any Idea how establish the connection over this port?

with kind regards

@GasAma I see that your support request has been archived. Have you been able to resolve your connectivity issues?
After that, it tried to connect to the Server with the Port "10006" and Failed, so we decided to open the Ports for the Server in the Firewall.
What was the actual state of the port when you tried to connect over it? I assume you traced its state down with nmap or netstat utilities?
Could your firewall (built-in or smth else) be blocking the necessary ports?

Perhaps, you could start the troubleshooting with this article:

Thanks.
