I have a physical server where I back up files from folders with agent. Backup takes quite a long time and sometimes other application which puts files there deletes some files from folder. Sometimes it's not a problem and backup finishes with list of files that it can't back up. But sometimes job hangs, in Job.Backup.log there is message that it can't back up some files, connection is closed and after that connection to agent fails "because the target machine actively refused it". After some tries there is message "Agent was closed, reconnects operation abort is not required" and then it starts repeating "Waiting for completion.". And in Veeam console job is not responsive and doesn't show any progress for hours.If I do "Stop session" then stopping also takes hours or until server restart. If I go to server console with remote desktop then GUI partially hangs and I cant open windows and taskbar etc and I can't login to physical console because logon process waits for something. Can't do anything but server restart from button.
I am curious if this is some known problem with veeam agent 5 problem and upgrading to newer version helps. I have Veeam 11 for a moment and I haven't updated agent to v6 yet. Can I install agent v6 with Veeam 11?
I can also try to talk to other application people and try to reorganize backup from their side that files are not deleted before Veeam agent backup ends and hope that it helps with this situation.

Our user guide has a compatibility matrix. You need v12 or v12.1 to manage Agent v6:

I suggest you plan an update to V12.1. V11a will be end of support by the end of February 2024:

No, Veeam Agent v6 is newer than V11. VBR v11 is not aware of Agent with version 6.Can I install agent v6 with Veeam 11?

Also, as this is not directly Veeam problem then I guess upgrading to V12/agent 6 doesn't really help. Or is something done there in relation to VSS and snapshot deletion when there is more activity in same disk and shadow copies are all deleted because of that. In case of Veeam 11 I can at least go back to Files to Tape jobs.
