Hello IT friends,
I am new to VEEAM, and trying to figure it out how things works.
What I have:
1) Remote physical Ubuntu server.
2) Veeam Backup software on Windows PC.
3) SMB/NAS connected internal on private network to remote physical server.
What I am trying to do is to connect to NAS/SMB share to store OS backups from physical server and manage it from VEEAM, but SMB domain can be reached from remote physical server only, and from Windows remote PC I can't add it as storage.
What can i do to add SMB share to remote physical server and control it from VEEAM backup manager?
Thank you all for answers.

Re: VEEAM + Remote Linux server + SMB (managing from Windows PC)
Hi Zte813,
Welcome to Veeam Community Forums and thanks for posting!
Could you please answer a few questions below for our better understanding?
1. Please confirm that your goal is to back up the "Remote physical Ubuntu server" and not the SMB share itself.
2. Please confirm that you are using Veeam Agent for Linux under the control of Veeam Backup & Replication server and not standalone Veeam Agent for Linux.
3. Does Veeam Backup & Replication server have connectivity with the target Ubuntu server?
Thanks

Re: VEEAM + Remote Linux server + SMB (managing from Windows PC)
Hello,
1) Yes I want to backup physical server, not SMB share.
2) Yes we are using it.
3) Yes it have.
What i need just to store backups from physical server to SMB share (because there i have backup in NAS which is accessible only inside, but not from outside, so remotely I can't add SMB as storage via veeam.

Hi,
Thanks for answering.
Since the backup target is not accessible directly from the backup server, you may create a Backup Policy while still managing the policy configuration from the Backup Console UI. System requirements for backup target can be found here. For the list of required ports please refer there.
Thanks
