Backup 2 Tape -> 14 TB and a lot a folders and files

Post by fraghunter »

hi!

we store a lot of files on our 46 TB nas which replicates his data to another nas.
We would like to use an old server to do veeam backup to tape backups now.

Do I need to click on Import Backups from respository to add the folder structure to veeam?

Which way should I implement a backup?
Do I have to add the nas which holds the data to my backup repositorys as CIFS?
or?

best regards

Hi,
Which way should I implement a backup?
If you use Enterprise version then Backup to Tape is the way to go - just add secondary NAS as a repo, do rescan and use it as a source. If you have Standard edition then add secondary NAS as a CIFS share to some server and use it as a source. Just make sure that tape server and the server where CIFS is mounted are close to each other (you can use the same one for both roles).

Thanks
