Backup Copy to Tape

Hi,

I need help on this scenario...

requirement:

Retention is 5 weeks and 12 months

what we are planning to do:
maintain 1 week retention localy (disk)
4 weeks offsite preferably to tape
12 months offsite preferably to tape

We have 4 sites say A,B,C and D... one of the site which is site D where-in our target repository for backup copy jobs from the 3 sites A,B and C are located.

sites a,b,c will have a local copy with a retention of 7 days
sites a,b,c will have a backup copy going to site D on a daily basis after the backup window on the local copy finish.
site a,b,c will have its own B&R server which is acting as a proxy and repository. on site d will also have the same except with the addition of the backup copy repository from each site plus the tape server function.

We want to have a tape out of the backup copy at site D. The retention is 5 week and 12 months. Also to save as much disk space on site D

Hi Richard and welcome to the community!
your plan looks perfect. You just need to create GFS Media pool and schedule backup to tape job to write backups on the tapes with the desired configuration.
