Hey friends,
I'm pretty new to Veeam and I'd like to know if you can give me any advice to configure a proper Backup2Tape job for a tape libray.
These are the environmental informations:
Daily Backup2Disc of two VM-Hosts with a total of 2,9 TB. It's a reverse incremental, no active full backups.
After this job starts a Backup2Tape of the same Backup2Disk job onto a LTO5 tape library.
The customer wants to take out a complete backup per week. Like tape 7 & 8 every monday.
What would be the best combination of media pool, retention time, backup method, etc?
2 tapes are reserved for a weekly backup, 1 slot is occupied by the cleaning tape, so I have 5 tapes to work with.
Any hints on how to configure it in a proper and reasonable way are highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Matt

Re: Best Practice for Small Businesses
Hi Matt,
If I got your requirements right (to pull all the backups to tape on a weekly basis) – you need is one media pool and one tape job with all the source jobs included as a source. Are you going to export/import these tapes or they will remain in the library?
