Hello everyone
We are in the process of fixing our backup environment. Unfortunately, what our Veeam partner promised us about V9 doesn't deliver:
At the moment, GFS Tapes do a mandatory synthetic backup. This tortures our hardware like nobody's business and literally makes it unusable.
Please either make GFS configurable so I can tell it to only copy the latest Full and DO NO SYNTHETIC or make it so that normal tape jobs will automatically skipp execution if a higher level job is going to run at the same time. Meaning when a monthly backup is due, there will be no weekly.
As it stands, we have to manually deactivate the jobs in order to make sure that it's not running two in parallel.
Also kindly allow GFS jobs to use more than one tape drive at a time. If we can make parallel backups of independent VMs, copy and tape jobs should be able to do the same.
Regards,
Marco

Re: [Feature Request] Better GFS Handling
May I ask you - what backup mode your source backup jobs are using? Forward forever incremental, forward incremental, reversed incremental? Thanks.
