Hi everyone, I got some issues with tape libraries here. At page "452" of "veeam_backup_7_userguide_vmware.pdf" I've found the link bellow to configuring vendor-supported tapes drives and media changers on ESXi.
http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1016407
I can see the tape medias but not the tape libraries at windows devices, so veeam is not going to recognize it. It's an IBM “TS3200” and a HP “MSL2024” and the operating system of the VM is an updated windows 2008 R2 SP1 with updated VMTools. I'm obviously running ESXi 4.1 licensed.
Has anyone accomplished that with success?
Thanks in advance,
Rodrigo.

Re: Configuring vendor-supported tape drives/media on ESXi 4
Hello Rodrigo,
The main point of the article you are referring is: "VMware does not provide support for backup tape drives and tape library devices or their functionality on ESX/ESXi hosts."
Some users also wanted to achieve tape device remote connection to Veeam B&R server installed in virtual environment and so far the best practice is to use iSCSI tape redirector.
Thank you.
